Ok so here is my hair care routine: (i’ve only been doin it since july1st so i’m still tryin to learn new styles..but right now i’ve been sticking with a twist out..as it gets longer i wanna try new things)

My hair type is like a 4b/4c. Click on the link to find your hair type. http://www.curls.biz/curly-hair-type-guide.html

I use the CURLS products line. You can purchase these products from your local Target store or online @ http://www.curls.biz/

IF YOU ORDER ONLINE PLEASE USE THE REF CODE : MQJKIJPQ

THEY ALSO HAVE A KIDS AND BABIES LINE!!!

Shampoo- Curlicious Curls Cleansing Cream

Conditioner- Coconut Sublime

Coconut Sublime Conditioner

Moisturizer/Curl Refresher- Quenched Curls

Quenched Curls - Curl Moisturizer/2nd Day Curl Refresher

Pure Coconut Oil- you can purchase from your local health food store or online @ http://www.vitacost.com/

coconut-oil-for-hair-02

Styler- Fantasia IC Styling Gel

For shine- Fantasia IC Hair Polisher

My hair care schedule:

At the start of the week (Sunday or Monday) – WASH and CONDITION, and after rinsing while my hair is still wet two strand TWIST my hair using the coconut oil. I cover with a scarf  and leave the twists in till they are dry or the next time I go out (the next morning or wear a hat or scarf if I have errands to run until I take it out for work that night)

To take the twists out- I re wet my hair and use the gel to take out the twists. Just one or two fingertips of gel per twist dependng on how big the twist is and take out by pulling twists in a downward motion- DON’T PULL THE TWISTS APART- IT WILL CAUSE FRIZZ.

I finish off with a nickel sized amount of hair polisher and finger that through my hair.

I only twist my hair every other night- just bc I’m lazy. On my off days I just re wet my hair and use the moisturizer which is a curl refresher and add a lil hair polisher.

For accessories I use hair ribbons or flowers like the ones above. But also LOVE the headbands from Target.

In the middle of the week (Thursday)- I co-wash (which basically means to wash with conditioner instead of shampoo) and start the process again.

Soon I will add pics of the process.

Girl, you are GORGEOUS! Like model gorgeous! I love your links & am going through each one. The only site so far that I’ve consistently gone to now that my own daughter’s hair is getting longer & more curly is tightlycurly.com

This site was so very important to me in learning about African American hair & how to make it gorgeous without damaging it. Do you know of any good sites that teach cornrow braiding? I’d love to be able to learn how to do this for my daughter’s hair.
